London Door Post Friday | 1

Living in central London means that we are just a few minutes walk from some magnificent and world famous landmarks- Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, the list could go on and on…And it’s fantastic!

But one of my favorite parts of the city- is exploring more of the “behind the scenes”- the row house neighborhoods, the corner cafes and bakeries, the charity shops– the little things that bring personality to this great city!

And one of my favorite things to photograph in these “behind the scenes” explorations are the very charming and lovely doors of London residents! I’ve found quite a few- and I’ve only covered a few blocks with my camera- so I expect to find lots and lots more. So I’ve decided to start a “Door Post Friday” mini-series showcasing “my finds”:)My first “installment” features the doors within a few blocks of our flat- doors of Westminster and some of Pimplico.

I LOVE the colors, the numbers, the stone, the white molding- all so very lovely:)Enjoy!

All on our street- love the blue and greens with the stone

A couple more on our block...

A couple more on our block…

These were found just a few blocks down on the borders of Pimplico. Such bright colors!

And my favorite door of the week- this door belongs to a small spa in town. Love the shabby chic, marble feel with the bright magenta!

Sarah - What I thought was cool when I went to England/Ireland were the doors, but the fact the door knobs were in the middle!!! I totally bought a calendar filled with door photos, hahaha!

Abby Grace - I fell in love with the doors as well when we were in London last summer- so much more personality than we have here in the US, with our homeowner’s association regulations and such. One day, when Matt & I own a home, we WILL be painting our door either bright red or sunshine yellow!
