Oh Venice. It was love at first sight. No lie- we walked out of the train station- and with my first look at this gorgeous city, I took a deep sigh. The blue water, the colorful houses, rustic shutters and doors- Venice is like something out of a dream.
Venice was easily my favorite leg of this trip- I loved Positano and Rome- but Venice was different- it was my kind of city. I could wander the streets of Venice for weeks and not grow tired of the sights. One of my favorite stores to explore is Anthropologie- whenever I go in that store I dream of our future home looking just like it. Venice was like Anthropologie in city form- so much unique character and charm.
Venice was our longest leg of our Italian Adventure- and I’m so glad we planned it that way, because by the time we arrived- we were ready for a bit of rest, and it was a great place to do so. We stayed in the Boscolo Venezia- a Marriott affiliate- and it was just GORGEOUS. The hotel was decorated in traditional Venetian style- ornate and beautiful. The foyer was decorated with Murano glass chandeliers- incredibly ornate and magical- from the island of Murano- which we visited on our second day of our time in Venice.
Much of our Venice trip was spent wandering- one of my favorite pastimesWe literally got lost in the city- and I cannot imagine a better place to be lost. If we weren’t so tired from our two previous legs of our journey- I’m sure we would have wandered longer. It’s easy to get lost in Venice- because even though it’s an incredibly unique city- at some point, everything starts looking the same! There are endless alleys, small canals, and colored houses- you start feeling like you are walking in circles (which we may have been!). And during our wanderings- I must have taken a picture of almost every door knob in this adorable place- I just couldn’t get enough of the little details that made up Venice. I’ve never been to a town with more character- and I’m SO thankful we got to experience it!
Ok- it’s picture time! Here’s a small look at our time in Venice. I sincerely hope that one day you get to experience it for yourself!
That wraps up our Italy adventures! Sad that it’s over, but so thankful it happened! Besides- we have a LOT more of England to explore- and PARIS- a trip planned for later this month!
Happy Tuesday, friends! Go wander somewhere
