One thing I’ve learned from my time here in London, is that I love being a tourist- and I have no problem acting like a one! This is probably quite clear to you as its obvious that I carry around my camera most everywhere I wander. But even I, a professional tourist, forget my camera- OR even worse- choose laziness and pick up my iphone instead. Shame shame shame.
Well this past week- Joey’s mom, Christine, was here on a short visit- the PERFECT excuse to get back into my touristing roles. We had a short amount of time to show off the London landmarks- but I think that’s the best way to kick into tourist-drive! Every moment is precious in checking off the must-sees from the list! We were able to visit Buckingham Palace, tour the Cotswolds, explore the British Museum, and tour a bit of Westminster and the South Bank! Joey’s mom loves photography too, so I can’t wait to see the loveliness she captured!
On one such day, I introduced Christine to Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, and the London Eye- all a short walking distance from each other. I LOVE taking pictures of these landmarks over and over again, because they look so different in the changing light. And on this particular day- a HUGE and very dark storm cloud was rolling in- making for the perfect backdrops for these majestic structures! Amazing.
So today I want to share some very touristy shots- most of these landmarks I’ve shared before, but not with a gigantic storm cloud as a backdrop! Enjoy…

One morning we headed to Buckingham Palace- JUST in time for the changing of the guard! Such a spectacle!

Westminster Bridge apparently has locks too!

The storms rolling in! See that tiny plain soaring through the clouds?

Dark dark skies
Happy Tuesday, friends!
Natalie - Woah! Those dark skies are crazy! Ahh!
Caitlin - That shot of the plane going through the clouds is incredible!
Kelly Messenger - The two times I’ve been to london, the weather always changes so fast. It’s always when the clouds are rolling on in or when they finally break after a huge storm that you get the best pictures.
Tyler - Love all of these photos! They’re so great! Especially the storm photos!
Alison Harper - Stunning photographs! It must have been amazing to see the changing of the guard. Thank you for sharing!
Sue Adams - Love the last photo..the red telephone booth against the dark grey sky….beautiful:)
Christine Tapanes - Sarah, the picture of Big Ben with the plane passing over turned out great. Can’t believe I didn’t even see it. Haven’t looked at my pictures yet.
