Truth be told?! I’m one TIRED girl at the moment. Life has been a series of non-stop the past few weeks- and exhaustion is starting to set in. With the to-do list building, I probably shouldn’t have slept in today- but I totally did, and that’s my excuse for a late blog post today! Joey finally decided to wake me at 9:30 with some hot creamy coffee- and I’m so glad he did. It was one of the mornings where getting out of bed was a bit of a chore- but after a pep-talk from Joey, prayer time, and some good pinterest quote perusing- I’m READY for this week. Bring it on, Monday.
But before I officially kick-off this week- I need to tell you all about this awesome weekend! Oh and it was a good one!
On Friday I spent some much-needed girl time with my best friend, Caryn in Old Town Alexandria shopping and brunching (La Madeleine’s breakfast croissants are AMAZING). Having adult lives with adult schedules has been a bit of a rude awakening in finding time time spend with my sweet friends- so I’m always ESPECIALLY thankful when schedules align.
Friday night- Joey and I heard the sounds of the local high school gearing up for Friday night football- and decided to join in on the fun. Talk about a blast from the past! We both came to the conclusion that high school life is pretty much the same- except for the addition of smart phones….and that we are stoked that we don’t ever have to go back to HS again
Saturday we had completely FREEEEEE- which was such a treat. Sleeping-in happened and some dinner with sweet friends. All and all an awesome treat!
Sunday was a busy one- but one that left me SO thankful for this job. Both sunrise and sunset were filled with two of the sweetest couples- the best way to START and END the day and weekend.
You may have caught wind through recent instagram posts and blog wording that Joey has started to join me for shoots during times he is free- and it has been a huge blessing. It is SO wonderful to be able to spend full weekends together- and have him along to shoot. And you guys- he is a TOTAL natural. I’ve had multiple #proudwife moments over the past few shoots- I’m continually impressed by him in so many ways….Newlywed life is a BLAST- and photographing soon-to-be-newlyweds together?! AMAZING!
We started our Sunday with Katie and TJ at Black Hill Regional Park in Maryland. It was a CHILLY morning- but these two were such champs! We began with some Krispy Kreme and coffee to gear us up- and then went straight into shooting- And the result was totally worth it! I’ve known Katie since high school and it is SO wonderful to see her so happy and in love- and finally meeting her sweet fiancé, TJ. These two are so wonderful together. (Joey’s image on the RIGHT!)
We wrapped up on Sunday with Wendy and Matt at the most beautiful winery in Haymarket, VA- The Winery at La Grange. These two were total naturals- I always start sessions explaining that it takes a little bit of time to warm up in front of the camera- but these two were warmed up in NO time…SUPER impressed, and such a JOY to capture! We had the best time getting to know these two in this gorgeous place! (Joey’s image on the LEFT)
SO, yes- I am exhausted. But I am SO thankful- for a job that allows me to work with such wonderful people! What a HUGE blessing.
HAPPY MONDAY AND NEW WEEK, FRIENDS!
