I’ve never really thought of myself as a morning person- I’ve always been described as a night owl. In college I got most of my work done at night (pulled one too many an all-nighter!)- but much of this has changed since becoming a photographer. With photography being based off of LIGHT- I’m always chasing the most golden of light. And that light? Comes at the crack of dawn. Morning person training, here I come…
This past Sunday, Joey and I set our alarms for 4:30 am to head to Germantown, Maryland for Katie and Tj’s sunrise engagement session. Sun was set to rise around 7:20 am, and we wanted some Krispy Kreme to make the morning light all the sweeter. We arrived at Black Hills Regional Park just in time to catch sun rising- and it was glorious!
I met Katie in high school- and she’s one of the most joyful people you could meet- always smiling, always always sweet- my kind of person. Meeting TJ was icing on the cake (or should I say krispy kreme donut?)…He’s as sweet as his wonderful fiancé.
I’m loving having Joey with me on shoots- because I feel all the more connected to these awesome brides and grooms. We left TJ and Katie’s e-session feeling like we made a new pair of couple friends- and we LOVE THAT!
Katie and TJ are SUCH champs- it was the chilliest morning of the season so far- but that’s nothing a bit of cuddling can’t solve! They brought along their adorable pup, Griffin…and the result of the whole shoot is something I can’t WAIT to share. So share I will!….
Happy Tuesday, Friends!
