Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! Who else feels like this week was the fastest one ever? I’m feeling that way more and more lately…Nevertheless…TGIF!

And in the spirit of all things Friday- I’m introducing a new series: Friday Favorites- a series dedicated to pretty things, yummy food, lovely places, and fantastic products.

As a newlywed and new home owner- I’ve developed more of an appreciation for things that make a house a home, excellent date ideas, and products that make life more adventurous. I’ve always appreciated lovely things- but now I have even more of a reason to own them!

If you follow me on Instagram, you may recognize some of these favorites- but I decided it would be fun to bring them to the blog- and point you in the right direction to find these goodies! So a couple of times a month you can find a list of a few of my favorite things! Here are some of my latest…

Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset

1.) Rifle Paper Co. Cities Coaster Set : If you follow me on instagram, you’ve probably caught wind of my obsession with all things Rifle Paper. My mom recently found an awesome coffee table for us and hand-stained it- we eat lots of our dinners on the couch watching the news (haha old married couple anyone?)- and we needed some coasters to protect the gorgeous wood! Enter Rifle Paper! I LOVED these city coasters- featuring small scenes from some of our favorite cities: London, Paris, New York, and Tokyo- and fitting perfectly with our overall travel theme!

2.) Peaches & Ink Bride to Be Mini Notebooks : OH now these are some little pretties! In a search for the perfect addition to my welcome gifts for my 2015 brides- I searched and searched on Etsy to find a bridal notebook that would go with my overall branding…enter Peaches and Ink and the fabulous Lauren (the store owner!)- she was SO wonderful to work with and I’m so excited for these lovelies to go to 2015 brides! Check out her shop for more goodness!

3.) Jules Thin Crust Pizza: If you are ever in the PA area- you HAVE to try and find a Jules location- some of the best flat bread pizza I’ve ever had- and it’s all organic. Totally not a food snob when it comes to eating “organic”- but trust me when I say its GOOD stuff. I like to pride myself in being a pizza connoisseur.

4.) Canon AE-1: I bought this film camera a couple years ago via craigslist in the hopes of learning film. I got a little lazy, and allowed it to sit in my room for pretty much all of those two years- and recently picked it up and met with the amazing Ashley Relvas to glean some better understanding of HOW to shoot this little wonder! I haven’t finished a full roll yet- but I will SOON- and I’m so excited to send it out and get my film scans!

5.) A Beautiful Mess Photo Idea Book: I love pretty books and pictures (duh). And last year Joey and I were shopping and this beautiful book caught my eye- Joey went back and bought it and surprised me with it later, and it now travels back and forth between my office and our living room. The ladies of A Beautiful Mess are SO inspiring and FULL of color- do yourself a favor and check out their website, follow their instagram, and think about buying this book- it’s FULL of inspiration for all those hoping to document this beautiful life!

6.) Out Take Canvas World Map Canvases: It’s no surprise that Joey and I love to travel- and we wanted to incorporate that into our home! Joey had the awesome idea of displaying the world map on one of our walls and using it as an inspiration for us for where to travel next-so we scoped the internets, ended up on Etsy, and found this glorious world map divided into to 6 canvases. My mom was over a couple weeks ago and helped us hang it evenly, and we LOVE it! The globe you see in the front is our guestbook from our wedding day:)

7.) Anthropologie Elka Mug: AH, Anthro. My happy place. Joey and I registered most of our dinnerware at Anthropologie- and I couldn’t help but add these beautiful tea cups! We use them for coffee (I’m not much of a tea drinker)…but I promise coffee tastes EVEN BETTER in these mugs!

8.) Trader Joe’s Cold Brew Concentrate: In my instagram wanderings, I came across a few of my friends posting about this coffee goodness! I have been searching for a way to enjoy iced coffee at home- and you guys- I’ve found it! I finally made a trip to Trader Joe’s last week, and picked up their cold brew concentrate. It’s SO good- and I’m already in need of a new jar!

9.) La Madeleine’s Breakfast Croissants: Breakfast and croissants are already two of my favorite things so when you put them together and add BACON- oh my yummy. Last Friday, my best friend and I met up in Old Town Alexandria for some shopping and brunch- and La Madeleine’s breakfast croissants were amazingggg. And to add to the amazingness? I posted this shot on instagram and won their weekly October contest with a $25 gift card to enjoy MORE breakfast croissants!

And there you have it- this week’s favorites! Friday’s are awesome- and so are friday favorites- so I’m giving away one of these featured goodies! One lucky blog reader will win one of the following:

– Rifle Paper Coaster Set

– A Beautiful Mess Photo Idea Book

– Anthropologie Elka Mug

To win comment with one of YOUR favorite things. Winner announced Monday and can choose one of the above favorites.

Alicia Lacey - Oh this is such a fun idea!! I love reading about little trinkets other people love. One of my favorite is this silver elephant ring holder that I got from Rob. It sounds kinda lame, but I always misplace things so knowing where my wedding rings are is a good thing!! Plus I love elephants (#elephanttwins)

Ali McLaughlin - I NEED that Beautiful Mess book!:-) funny story.. I know the author from my days as a published scrapbooker. :-) Always loved everything creative.

Brett Denfeld - I agree with Alicia! This is totally adorable! I love your globe guest book!!! And the fact that you love and search for new fun things. I totally do the same thing :) my favorite thing actually also has to do with my rings haha. I have this red and white and green bowl from anthro that I got a couple of summers ago and it’s filled with all my rings. It sits on top of my dresser and just makes me happy! I have a lot of rings so it’s good to know they will all be in that spot :) TGIF!

Maria Harsh Yoder - I’m an awful liquid diet in prep for surgery (for 2 weeks) soooo my favorite thing right now is FOOD. Any food! ha ha This diet has made me realize just how much enjoyment we get from food. When eating as a family, eating out, or even just eating is out of the question it changes a lot! Love your pictures. One of these days you can come to my house and decorate it with your photos since I don’t have a clue what I’m doing.
